Cold and Lonely...

...a class 140 loco makes its way through the switchyard of Aachen west, as seen from a road overpass. This was shot when some snow finally came down in November and I went out to take some photos with the intention to conserve the strange atmosphere, which is alway present on those days.

The class 140 is a medium freight engine, introduced in 1957, and is currently being slowly phased out.
most of them end up at the "famous" scrapyard railfans adore (hate) so much, the Bender in Leverkusen [link] , where is usually waiting for them ^^
